Wedding gown shopping has become somewhat of a holiday in my family.
Joni started the tradition before she got married and decided to include not only my mother and myself in her gown shopping, but also our grandmother, two aunts and a cousin.
So of course I couldn't be outdone when my day came--there were nine of us in all that went shopping in Boardman, Ohio, yesterday: Mom, Joni, Grandma, Aunt Ginny, Aunt Rene, Anita Harper and her sister, Emily Williams, Bekah Wyatt, and me. So you can imagine how we pretty much bombarded the two places we shopped. But it was great fun, and we ate a late lunch at Rockne's there along the main strip in town. I found two dresses I liked, each completely different from the other, but I think I'll keep looking. There's also a fantastic store where you can actually find modest wedding gowns (http://www.latterdaybride.com/), and there are a few I really like there, too. So we'll see. I guess I still have a fair amount of time before next June rolls around, although I'm sure this year is going to fly.
My first week of classes went well, and I actually applied for a job at the new Kohl's store in town that will open next month. I report for an interview this Wednesday, so I hope I can snatch the job because I could really use a somewhat steady income...
